What is Maca? Well for starters it is a very special plant with a history as early as 4000 B.C.
This plant was an integral part of the diet and commerce of the high Andes region. When they controlled that certain South American region, the Incas found maca so potent that they restricted its use to their Royalty’s court.
This ancient root was used as an energy enhancer and for nutrition by the Spanish Royalty as well. But eventually knowledge of this roots magic qualities died out, being preserved only in a few remote Peruvian communities.
Today this herb is used for women and men for it’s medicinal properties as well as a supplement for energy, libido, and anxiety.
The sex enhancing libido properties are legendary. Peruvian maca root has been dubbed “Peruvian ginseng,” even though it bears no relation to ginseng. But like ginseng, the plant is employed into an extract to increase strength, energy, stamina, libido and sexual function, a winning combination of health benefits if there ever was one.
I can personally attest to the libido affects of this stuff. I ordered Maca powder online and was surprised at how affordable it was. I purchased 7oz for about $12. I had heard that the taste wasn’t that pleasant and boy were they right!
I would mix about 3 grams into a protein shake every morning. After about the third day I actually started to acquire a taste for it, and by the end of the week it actually started to taste pretty good. If I had to describe it I would have to say it is almost like what it would taste like if toasted almonds, coffee, bitter chocolate had a baby.
As for the libido I felt more lively after about the 3rd day. I became alot more interested in sex, ok I was a freaking horn dog! And yes it did increase intensity and volume of ejaculation.
I also noticed that I felt better in general, not hyper or caffeinated but just a better sense of well being. It has been reported that Maca is good for increasing libido in women as well. Men and women who use this plant typically will engage in sexual activities more frequently than those that do not.The reason for the increase in sexual desire can be attributed to this herbs ability to balance hormone levels in men and women. The balancing of hormones not only improves libido but increases mood, decreases anxiety, and boosts energy.
I would not recommend starting a 3 grams most people start out at about 500 mg until they test there tolerance. I used it for about six months and never noticed it wearing off. Maca is a Food and does not need to be cycled to continue to be beneficial.
If you did a Google search for Maca reviews you would see that I am not the only one who has experienced this magic herb, and I doubt I will be the last.
